The Gideons of Preaching of the Word are Evangelists, those whom God has called and enabled to accomplish the great commission of the Lord: of preaching the Gospel to every creature, in the whole earth, and those who are prepared to preach the Gospel unceasingly until the Lord’s return.

How will they preach the Word (The Gospel)

They will be prepared through courses of the School of Gideons and the Course of Deep Bible Study, where they will be qualified to accomplish the glorious mission of evangelizing.

In the same way as the Gideons of Prayer and the Gideons of Worship, the Gideons of  Preaching the Word will be on duty for one hour or more, weekly, for this glorious mission.

When will this army become active

The Lord will indicate the right moment. In the heavenly realms everything is already being prepared and the number of those saved will be complete so that Christ can come and establish his physical and glorious Kingdom on this Earth.

We are praying and fasting, generating these great platoons of valiant warriors, willing to snatch lives from the claws of the forces of darkness and to bring them to the arms of the Heavenly Father.

We believe that 2009 is the year of the Holy Spirit and in the strength of His power we will march.

Spiritual covering for Gideons of Preaching the Word

Gideons of Prayer form the squadron of power, covering the whole army of the church of the Lord – they act as the Air Force, filling the air with their victory arrows, and, without fear, they break the barriers of the forces of darkness.

Gideons of Prayer prepare the way for the Evangelist (Gideons of  Preaching the Word) and they cover the Gideons of Worship, so that the incense of worship ascends as a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

Gideons of Worship function as the Navy. They seek to know the deep waters that the Spirit of God reveals. Without a diving suit, but wrapped up in the mantle of the Holy Spirit, the Gideons of  Worship dive into the depths of the beauty of the character of the Lord Almighty.

Through prayer the Gideons bring the Heavens to the Earth. Through worship, they enter into the heavens and into the fire of the presence of God, which is a “consuming fire”. And, in that fire, the bondages, that they may still have, will be burned, destroyed, ending all fear, depression, insecurity, sadness, hate, resentment, bitterness, etc.

Gideons of the Preaching of the Word are the warriors of the infantry, that do battle against the forces of evil that imprisons people, with spiritual blindness, stopping them from seeing the Saviour.

They fight body to body, receiving the covering of the Gideons of prayer and of worship.

What is the Ministry “Little Gideons”?

It is a worldwide interdenominational Ministry, linked to the Ministry “24 Hours Before the Lord”, that unites children, from seven to twelve years of age, who love the Lord and have a commitment with their church, committing themselves to pray for the children of the Nations, fifteen minutes a day, and who seek to be ready, in holiness, for the Lord’s return.

The Vision of The Ministry “Little Gideons”

The Ministry seeks to form Christ’s character in children, from seven to twelve years of age, through biblical teaching, leading them to understand the Christian principles of the New Testament.

The children (Little Gideons)  pray for specific topics that appear in the outline of their “Passport of Prayer” and they meet weekly with their counsellors.

In these weekly meetings (usually on Sundays – before or after Sunday school, or the morning service), they receive training and they plan:

Social activities (rendering help to people in need, helping other children, showing unity in situations of catastrophe, visiting hospitals, orphanages, etc)

Leisure activities (they should learn as children, through healthy and educational games – in the meetings and special events, such as camps, pupil exchanges and retreats)

Spiritual activities (where they learn the principles of prayer, intercession and worship – promoting evangelism and spiritual growth)

Dynamics of the Operation of the Ministry “Little Gideons”

Firstly counsellors are chosen for the Little Gideons to form Troops in the church. The counsellors will receive the appropriate training through the “Preparatory Course” and will bring together the candidates for the Little Gideons. The Little Gideons will take the course “Fundamentals of the Faith” and will be consecrated on the day they graduate as the first Troop of Little Gideons.

1.  Counsellors: The counsellors of  the Little Gideons, after they have received their training on the Preparatory Course, ministered by teachers of the Ministry 24 Hours Before the Lord, will raise their troops of children aged from seven to twelve years of age.

They will receive the Certificate of the Preparatory Course for Counsellors soon after the conclusion of the course, but their anointing with oil will take place when they raise their first Troop.

They will receive their consecration and their distinctive badge together with their first Little Gideons (on the day of their Graduation)

They will be able to anoint all the new Little Gideons of the new groups as they are raised.

They should be Gideons of Prayer, of Worship or of Preaching the Word.

2.  Troops: The troops should be formed in accordance with the children’s age:

Troop 1 – with children of 7 and 8 years

Troop 2 – with children of 9 and 10 years

Troop 3 – with children of 11 and 12 years

Obs: the troops can be adapted according to the number of children involved at each church, also taking into account the number of counsellors.

3.   Candidates for Little Gideons: The children, firstly as “Candidates for Little Gideons”, will receive instruction in a series of four lessons on the “Fundamentals of the Faith” (The Magazine of the Little Gideons), being:

“Conversion” – A study on what is meant by the “new birth” (an experience which is a basic requirement of the Little Gideon)

“The Bible” – A study on the Word of God and how it should be read and how you should meditate on its teachings

“Prayer” – A study on the importance of Prayer in the life of someone who is already born again, or of the true Christian (it will be the essential habit of each Little Gideon – fifteen minutes daily)

“The Holy Spirit” – A study on the activity of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Christian and the importance of keeping alight the fire of communion with God.

Obs: The four lessons will be ministered in the church at the weekly meetings of Little Gideons (Sundays in the morning, for example). There will be eight weeks of lessons plus one more for revision of the classes and a written evaluation.

4.    Graduation and Schedule of Prayer: Having concluded the lessons, the children will receive their Certificate of Little Gideons and anointing with oil (or the laying on of hands of the Pastors).

After their graduation and consecration, the Little Gideons will begin their schedule of daily prayer, being fifteen minutes a day, following the outline supplied in the Passport of Prayer.

After concluding the curriculum of the “Course of Fundamentals of the Faith” for Little Gideons, there will be a Graduation ceremony at which the children will be anointed to exercise their ministry, interceding for the children of the Nations.

On the day of the evaluation of the Course (the last day of class) the children will choose their time of prayer (with their parents’ approval).

5.    Responsibilities of the Parents of Little Gideons: There will be a meeting with the parents (or guardians) of the candidates for Little Gideons, where an orientation on the importance of the commitment that the children will assume will be given, they will also receive an explanatory letter about the Ministry and the children’s involvement. As follows:

The parents (or guardians) will commit themselves to bring the children to take part in the four lessons of the “Fundamentals of the Faith” of the Little Gideons – there will nine weekly meetings in total: 8 weekly meetings in which the lessons will be taught, a revision of the whole content of the course of the Little Gideons and an exam to evaluate what they have learnt in the last week .

The Graduation of the Little Gideons will be held in a celebration service, when they will be anointed and begin their schedule of daily prayer as “Warrior Gideons”

There will receive the “Little Gideons kit” on the day of their Graduation. The parents should motivate the children to raise the resources with their own work.

To graduate with their class the child should have attended at least 75% of the classes and obtained the acceptable score of 50 points in the exam given by the counsellor.

If the child doesn’t have the necessary attendance or obtain the necessary score to graduate, he/she should return in the next group.

After their children have become Little Gideons the parents should:

Accompany their children in the commitment of prayer and in the devotionals directed by the counsellors.

Encourage their children to be faithful in the commitments of the Troop (meetings and activities).

Communicate to the counsellors their children’s behaviour at home and in School.

Help their children to be present in uniform in the meetings (with the T Shirt of the kit), bringing their Bible and Passport in the personalised backpack of the Ministry.

6.   Kit of Little Gideon: Each Little Gideon will receive on the day of their Graduation their kit containing the following personalised material:

The Badge of the Ministry (there will be other badges with different designs, that can be acquired during their years in the Ministry, in accordance with the child’s performance in the activities as a Little Gideon).

7.   Implementation of the Ministry: Churches interested in implementing the Ministry Little Gideons should communicate with the Headquarters of the Ministry 24 Hours Before the Lord and request the Preparatory Course for Counsellors of Little Gideons after which they will receive all the necessary information and material.

There will be interactions among the troops in the cities.

There will be suggestions for an annual calendar for the Little Gideons supplied by the Headquarters, containing directions and tips for events.

There will be Seminars for the Counsellors of Little Gideons and national events for the children.

The worship tower functions 24 hours a day seven days a week, with Gideons rotating every hour, proclaiming, every hour, one of the perfect attributes of the Lord.

Through true worship, in spirit and in truth, the throne of the glory of God is established, because He reigns fully over the Church and it should prepare itself in holiness for the “Marriage Supper of the Lamb”.

24 attributes of God were chosen to be studied in the Preparatory Course for worship and to be proclaimed by the Gideons of worship.

The attributes of God, that are communicable to Man, when proclaimed and understood, bring the understanding of the greatness of the Divine Being and, in their contemplation, we, as children of God, are being made similar to Him (I John 3:1-3), for instance: in goodness, love, fidelity, longsuffering, kindliness, mercy, etc.

When contemplating the Lord in his incommunicable attributes, that is, in His prerogatives as God (omniscience, omnipresence, etc), we have our faith strengthened and our heart warmed by the contemplation of His Being.

The Gideons of Worship begin their rotas after the conclusion of the Preparatory Course; they receive special enabling through the anointing with oil, and they will be at their post until the glorious coming of the Lord.

The Tower Of Worship

It is prepared with care, containing pennants of stainless steel with the twenty-four attributes of God (communicable and incommunicable and items relating to the action of God among Men).

In his moment alone with God, the Gideon of Worship also takes off his shoes, in an attitude of reverence and worship to the Lord.

The chapters of the books “Worship – The Attributes of God” (volumes 1 and 2) will serve as an outline for worship for the Gideons. The immediate consequence of worship 24 hours a day for each Gideon is described in 2 Cor. 3:18:

“But we all, with unveiled faces, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord”. (NKJV)

Purpose:
The objective of the School is to prepare in Biblical knowledge, spiritual understanding, pedagogical and psychological of the little ones, so that they can fulfill their calling in the army of the Lord as Junior Gideon’s.
Each child is in fertile ground for sowing the Word, but to bear fruit, it is necessary that the character of Christ be formed in their hearts.

The theme of the assignment is: “The Child in the Hands of the Potter” (based on the ministered studies)
The value of work, like the test, is 100 points (what will be evaluated: the content of the assignment and your presentation). The student’s final grade will be the largest number of points achieved on the assignment or on the test.

Graduation and Consecration of the Leaders of the Junior Gideon’s:
There will be a graduation after completing the course.
The consecration (anointing with oil) of the new Counselors of the Junior Gideon’s will be held during a worship service (with the blowing of the shoffar) and the presence of his/her “Junior Gideon Troops”.
The troops should be according to age and number of Junior Gideon’s (i.e. Gideon’s Troop of 7 years, 8 years, etc).

We hope that each student can make the entire journey with diligence, in the joy of the Lord, and to fulfill the “race that is set before” him. May the Holy Spirit bring the anointing needed for teachers and students, teaching us to keep the eternal truths and live the fullness of God’s will.

The Gideon’s School arises in the Church as an indispensable tool for the maturation of the servant of God called to the glorious mission of intercession, worship and to be an evangelist.

Having knowledge of the Word of God, knowing the fundamentals of our faith, and to give a reason for being a Christian is a priority requirement for a fruitful and healthy Christian life.

The Gideon’s School of Prayer covers a course with material on “Prayer”, “Worship” and “Preaching the Word.”

It is a powerful instrument for empowering each individual Gideon to an abundant life, being an intercession warrior, a true worshiper, and being prepared to give the reason for their faith and preach the gospel to the world.

The goal of the School is to prepare, in the Biblical knowledge ,those whom the Lord has called to:

Intercede for the Church and the lost (Gideon’s of prayer);

Worship the One who is worthy to receive praise, glory and worship (Gideon’s of worship);

Preach his message of salvation, witnessing in “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth” – Acts 1:8 (Gideon’s of the preaching of the Word).

TARGET AUDIENCE OF THE GIDEON’S SCHOOL

The Gideon’s School is designed to bring maturity to the participants of the whole army that makes up the Ministry, whether it is in the pillar of prayer, worship or preaching the Word.

It requires each Gideon to do the proposed course. It constitutes a basic requirement to exercise the intercessory ministry or other pillars of the Ministry Gideon’s 24 Hours Before the Lord.

The participation of other brothers who are not members of the Gideon’s ministry, this is possible, provided that they submit to the standards set by the School.

GIDEON’S SCHOOL AND THE MINISTRY 24 HOURS

The School purpose involves the spiritual growth of the Gideon’s, seeking compliance with the wisdom of his call, and financial resources arising from the course will be employed in projects of the Ministry and its expansion.

The establishment of the School in the churches will be directly with the headquarters of the Ministry, through its secretary, or through the Regional Coordinators, this is, properly accredited representatives of the Ministry 24 Hours Before the Lord.

There will be a registration fee of R$ 65.00 (sixty-five reais) and a monthly fee of R$25.00 (twenty five reais) which will be transferred to the Ministry directly or through the coordinator regional.

There will be 5 (five) monthly payments for the semester course (five months)

Students should acquire the 2 (two) books of the Gideon’s School in enrollment for their follow-up studies:

The Ministry will provide students with their “Manual” containing the schedule of the course and a workbook of the course.

The church should ensure that all Gideon’s who can not pay this fee receive a partial or full “scholarship” (according to their needs) – The Ministry may provide up to 10% of scholarships for Gideon’s in need (not including textbooks ).

GIDEON’S SCHOOL AND THE LOCAL CHURCH

The participating church of the Ministry 24 Hours Before the Lord must purchase the DVD’s with the ministrations of the course classes on Prayer, Worship and Preaching of the Word (with headquarters directly or through the Regional Coordinator).

The projection of the classes (DVD’s) may be accompanied by the pastor or person responsible for the local church Tower (Tower Superintendent), so that students understand the lessons and resolve questions and/or doubts.

TEACHERS AND MINISTRATION OF CLASSES

All classes are recorded on DVD.

The Gideon churches should acquire the DVDs and project them to students on a screen.

All facilitators of the School (pastor or superintendent of the Tower) should be Gideon’s of prayer so that there is effective teaching (as an example of life).

DIDACTIC

The textbook of the Gideon’s School is the Holy Bible.

All the subjects studied are based on biblical content.

Three books have been prepared for the Gideon’s School course containing chapters on the specific topics of the classes:

Getting to Know the Ministry of Gideon’s of Prayer (optional)

DVDs of all classes can also be purchased by students (directly through the Headquarters or through the Regional Coordinator), as a resource to make-up any missed class material.

REGIONAL COORDINATOR

Consists of a Gideon pastor accredited by the Ministry 24 Hours Before the Lord who will represent the Ministry in the establishment of the Towers of Prayer and / or Worship and the Gideon’s School and other courses of the Ministry in the churches.

Their names and credentials will be issued by Headquarters to the churches in the region who coordinate. The Ministry should have a Regional Coordinator for each region of Brazil (covering its States).

COURSE DURATION AND FREQUENCY OF STUDENTS

The course has a duration of 5 months.

Once a week two lessons are taught.

Students must attend at least 75% of classes to receive the certificate of completion of the course.

EVALUATION (ASSIGNMENTS AND TESTS)

• After the classes of each module: Prayer, Worship and Preaching the Word; there will be a multiple choice test (sent by the Headquarters of the Ministry), with 10 questions, totaling 100 points (10 points per question).

• The assignments for each module: Prayer, Worship and Preaching the Word; will be handed-out on the pre-announced dates on the first day of class, according to the “Student Handbook of the Gideon’s School” – totaling 100 points each, being corrected by the facilitators of the course (pastors or superintendents of the Towers).

• The student must take the tests and do the assignments.

• The student’s final grade will be based on the arithmetic mean of the 3 Modules (Prayer, Worship and Preaching the Word) – assignments and tests.

GRADUATION (CERTIFICATE)

• There will be a graduation ceremony for students who have completed the course of the Gideon’s School.

• The date of the Graduation will be chosen by the local church in days after the last class is given and the final exam (Preaching the Word).

• The certificate of completion of the course will be provided by the Ministry – as the standard for all Gideon schools throughout the Brazilian territory.

• The graduation ceremony will include the photos (digital) of the students individually (with the Gideon’s banner background) and personalized in gold letters: “Graduation of the students of the Gideon’s School” – with the respective date.
